The lesson “Breastfeeding Consultation” seeks to equip the mother to know how to evaluate her own success with breastfeeding, identify any breastfeeding problems and brainstorm appropriate solutions she may want to use. This lesson explains the importance of growth monitoring for proper weight gain to identify milk supply issues and methods for increasing milk supply if needed. This lesson also addresses options for managing nipple pain and identifying symptoms of mastitis and how/ when to seek medical help.
