The lesson “Pre-Natal HIV/AIDS Prevention to the Newborn” helps the mother/caregiver understand how HIV is transmitted from a pregnant woman to her baby. The mother/caregiver learns the importance of seeking medical attention to treat HIV and AIDS during pregnancy, and she learns how mothers can prevent HIV transmission to their children. As appropriate, she is encouraged to determine a plan to secure medical attention for preventing HIV transmission.
