Qavah is a series of training materials created by Compassion International to empower communities and families to solve challenges utilizing resources at their disposal. Qavah is a Hebrew word which means ‘binding together, eagerly waiting, hoping for and expecting’. This term captures a sense of optimism and hope, along with the idea of working together, which is essential for positive, lasting change to take place. The purpose of this Briefing Paper is to define the differences between church mobilization and church and community mobilization, exploring the advantages and disadvantages of each approach.
